Aydin Guttridge, class of 2019, has been a wrestler since sixth grade, with six years of experience. He has wrestled for East for the three years he’s been in high school.

Since freshman year, Guttridge has been on Varsity. This year, as a junior, Guttridge’s weight class is 285. He is looking forward to just having fun and improving upon his wrestling skills.

“Someone who motivates me is my dad,” said Guttridge. “He wrestled in college and understands what it’s like to be a wrestler and go through the things I am going through.”

Like Guttridge, his dad also started wrestling in middle school and qualified for National tournament two times.

When wrestling, Guttridge’s strategy is to be aggressive.

“I look for my shot and keep pushing forward,” said Guttridge.

The E-Rabs’ first match of the year will be on Wednesday, Nov. 22, against the Hononegah Indians, starting at 6 p.m. at East High School.

“We are all a family. We come together, work together and push each other to the best of our abilities,” said Guttridge.
