“My uncle passed away last year. He had brain cancer. He was 40 years old. It was one of the hardest times to get over in my life. I learned things from him. No matter the circumstances you’re in, you should still be thankful for everything you have and live life at your fullest. He’d always want to travel and go out to crazy places. He was always enthusiastic about it, but he never got to do it. I want to take his word for it… take chances, travel to different places and do different things before I die.”

-Kayla Ancondo, class of 2020
