Q. What do you do?

A. I teach students how to be mentally healthy.

Q. Why did you decide to do this?

A. I saw students enter the classroom emotionally not ready for school. I wanted to help.

Q. Where did you go to college? Why?

A. University of Texas for my bachelors. The campus sold me Concordra University for my masters. It was convenient.

Q. Who or what inspired you to want to teach?

A. As far as teaching my mom directed me into this path for counseling. My aunt is a counselor, and I heard so much about her job and thought I could do the same.

Q. When did you start?

A. 2001 for teaching and 2018 for counseling.

Q. What kind of challenges do you face?

A. People not taking you seriously and not willing to work with you.

Q. What is your favorite thing?

A. Getting to know the students and interacting with them.

Q. If you weren’t teaching, what would you be doing?

A. Working at a bookstore, because they already have enough of my money.

Q. Why did you choose to work at East?

A. I was actually surplussed so I didn’t chose to come, but I chose to stay. I love the faculty.
