Classes compete at Powder Puff 2019

The 2019 Homecoming Week was full of fun, tradition, and memories for the East E-Rabs. There was a lot to do and see throughout the week, but it was an especially busy time for juniors and seniors. Both classes were taking part in one of the biggest Homecoming traditions, Powderpuff. Students picked their nicknames, the guys and girls switched roles, and they participated in the annual events and flag football game.

“It brings the whole class together and I get to meet people I’ve never even met before,” said Alondra Covarvubias, class of 2020.

It was an exciting race between the two classes for the title, but the class of 2020 came out victorious. A lot went in to organizing the event, and with the help of the students and staff, the tradition was smoothly run and enjoyable to all.

“I enjoyed seeing everyone come out, we even had parents come out, and support,” said Gary Griffin, athletic director.

The competition was fun, many laughs were shared, and a load of memories were made. The seniors let out one final “2020!” chant to leave a mark on their last Homecoming week, and the juniors look ahead to making those memories again next year.

“I will participate next year as a senior for sure,” said Megan Griffin, class of 2021.
