Multiple students from East High will participate in two art shows across Rockford throughout the next two months.
There will be a show at the Rockford Art Museum, opening March 15, running to April 3. The former will include an opening ceremony from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., honoring the students participating.
Another show opened March 4 at Rock Valley College and will run until April 1. This highlights many students active in art at East. It is being showcased in the Estelle M. Black Library from 8 a.m to 8 p.m.
“It boosts everybody’s confidence in their art, [as] other people can view it. You can also get some inspiration from other artists,” said Camila Rivera, class of 2020. She submitted a collage of her baby sister made from newspaper clippings.
