Does Tilted 10’s food get a 10?

Jonathan Dumois

On a Sunday afternoon I was at the CherryVale Mall. I didn’t need to buy anything, I just wanted to get out of the house. The first thing I did was head to the food court, but the lines were all too long. Then I remembered passing by the Tilted 10 arcade and seeing that there was nobody eating there, so I went there.

I viewed the menu of the restaurant and had a difficult time finding out what I should order, they all looked so good, even without pictures. I decided to get the “All American Burger,” which was the special of the day. The special got you one patty, but I wanted two, so I paid full price for it. The burger came with fries and a drink. It set me back $16 with tax.

I first got the soda that came with the meal and let me just say there is nothing like getting a soda from one of those beer guns. It tasted quite funny though, but it was refreshing.

After waiting 15 or 20 minutes, my meal came. Upon first glance, it looked like it came from one of those gourmet burger restaurants that I obviously cannot afford.  It tasted like any other burger I ate, until I was almost halfway through. It honestly wasn’t that bad. The crisp buns they used really sealed the meal for me.

After that, I ate the fries. I have a certain way of eating things, and when it comes to burgers, I eat the burger first, then the fries. The fries were served in one of those trays that cook the fries. The seasoning and crispiness were what made them taste really well, so much so I wanted to order seconds.

Then I ordered a cookies n’ cream milkshake. I noticed at the top what I thought was a chocolate chip cookie, but when I ate it, I realized that it wasn’t a chocolate chip cookie, it was an OREO. The waiter attending me during the meal told me that they deep fry their OREOs for their cookie milkshake.

“Anything could be deep fried if you put your mind to it,” he said.

Overall, the food was better than I expected when I first walked in there. I walked in expecting a subpar mall meal, but I walked out satisfied. The service was unlike anything I’ve ever seen in a restaurant, and that is why I will definitely be coming back. I give it 4 and a half stars.
